How to Find Your Ring Size at Home
Share
A ring that fits well feels secure without being tight, and slides over your knuckle with a little resistance. You do not need to visit a store to find your size. Here are two easy ways to measure at home.
Method 1: measure a ring you already own
- Choose a ring that fits the finger you want to wear the new ring on.
- Place it on a ruler and measure the inside diameter in millimetres, from inner edge to inner edge.
- Match the number to the diameter column in our size guide.
Method 2: measure your finger
- Wrap a thin strip of paper or a piece of string around the base of your finger.
- Mark the point where the ends meet. Make sure it is snug but can still slide over your knuckle.
- Lay it flat on a ruler and measure the length in millimetres. This is your finger's circumference.
- Match the number to the circumference column in our size guide.
Tips for an accurate size
- Measure at the end of the day, when your fingers are at their largest. Avoid measuring when your hands are cold.
- Measure two or three times to be sure you get the same result.
- Between two sizes? Choose the larger one.
- Wide bands fit more snugly, so consider going up half a size.
- Buying a surprise gift? Borrow a ring they wear on the same finger and measure it with method 1.
